VMC releases book on city’s heritage

Vadodara: In a first, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has come up with a book on the city’s heritage. The book was launched on Thursday at an event in the city.
The book has been published by Vadodara Smart City Development Ltd, the special purpose vehicle for the Smart City initiative. Heritage enthusiast Rajendra Shah who retired from the civic body, but has been roped in again on contract for the heritage cell of the civic body has written the book ‘Vadodara: Janyu Chhata Ajanyu’.
VMC’s Smart City proposal has included heritage of the city as a key area. In area-based development projects, it was proposed to identify zones having heritage structures and prepare strategies to attract heritage tourists. Other heritage related infra too will be developed.
