Kerala: Primary health centres in Kazhakootam constituency to be upgraded

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two primary health centres(PHCs) in Kazhakootam assembly constituency will be upgraded as urban health centres. In a meeting convened by minister for devaswom and tourism Kadakampally Surendran here on Thursday, the minister directed the officials to initiate steps to upgrade Aruvikarakonam and Mannanthala PHC to urban health centres.

The minister also said that steps will be taken to ensure sufficient number of staff at primary health centres of Ulloor, Aruvikarakonam and Mannanthala. Steps to appoint staff in Pangappara health centre are in the final stage. The minister also said that construction activities to upgrade Pangappara health centre as family health centre will be completed in a time bound manner.
Medical college principal Thomas Mathew, RMO Mohan Roy, district medical officer Preetha PP, corporation secretary, Mannathala councillor Anilkumar attended the meeting.
