Botswana will soon be welcoming travellers flying through the Middle East for the first time.
Starting 27 October, Qatar Airlines will be operating a three-times-weekly flight to Gabarone - the first Middle Eastern airline to fly to the capital - operated by an Airbus A350.

The flight will fly from Doha to Gabarone via Johannesburg on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, making it another flight option for South Africans to Botswana.
The schedule will be as follows:
- Doha - Johannesburg QR1377: Departs DOH 06:55, Arrives JNB 14:50
- Johannesburg - Gaborone QR1377: Departs JNB 15:55, Arrives GBE 16:50
- Gaborone - Johannesburg QR1378: Departs GBE 18:35, Arrives JNB 19:30
- Johannesburg - Doha QR1378: Departs JNB 20:40, Arrives DOH 06:35 +1

The airline will also be flying for the first time to Langkawi in Malaysia in October. Other destinations the airline has recently added to its network include Rabat (Morocco), Izmir (Turkey), Malta, Davao (Philippines), Lisbon (Portugal) and Mogadishu (Somalia).
