Rajkot: A special POCSO court in Jamnagar, which had convicted eight person, including the minor's mother and her elder sister, for forcing the girl into prostitution, on Tuesday, sentenced six men to life imprisonment for rape on Wednesday.
The special POCSO judge P C Raval also sent the survivor’s mother and sister to seven years imprisonment and fined them Rs 10,000 each under under Immoral Trafficking Act.
Besides sentencing them to life imprisonment, the court fined six accused — Bhavesh Sayani, Ranjitsinh Jadeja, Bhashir Hasam Sajan, Vinod alias Bhuro, Kiran Boricha and Akbar Gulam, Rs 25,000 each under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376 (b), 504, 506(1), sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The court also issued warrent against Sayani, the owner of Bhavesh Impacts, as he had not produced himself before the court on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to case details, in 2016, the girl then 15-years-old, had managed to escape from the clutches of one of the accused men and approach the police. She lodged an FIR with the Jamangar city C division police station accusing her mother and elder sister of forcing her into flesh trade when she was just 11-years-old. She had also alleged that she was assaulted and verbally abused by her mother and sister when she opposed them.

During course of investigation, police arrested the six accused who had allegedly raped her her over four years.
According to assistant public prosecutor Komal Bhatt, the girl’s mother and elder sister had forced her into flesh trade for personal gains.
