Mangaluru: Woman, her daughter killed in road mishap

MANGALURU: A woman and her daughter were killed in a head-on collision between an ambulance and a truck at Netlamudnur under Vittal police station limits late on Tuesday.
The deceased were accompanying a family member to hospital. According to police, the victims have been identified Parvathi (76) and her daughter Seshamma (45), residents of Sullia.
The victims and two others - Subrahmanya and Lokayya - were in the ambulance. They were taking Parvathi’s husband Vama Nayak to hospital in Mangaluru.
A truck moving towards Puttur collided with the ambulance when it reached Netlamudnur around 10.45pm.
The injured are being treated at a private hospital in Puttur.
A case has been registered at Vittal police station in this regard.
