Tuned BMW 640i Doesn’t Give A Hoot About The New 840i

It’s been a while since we last heard about Senner, yet the tuner is back, with another head-turning creation: the 640i Convertible.

The F12 generation of the open top model has received the chip-tuning treatment, alongside a sports air filter and power converter. The result is 379 PS (374 hp / 279 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque, a 59 PS (58 hp / 43 kW) and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) increase over the regular 640i.

With the extra muscle, the car can challenge the new 840i in a straight-line duel.  That model is also powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, albeit with slightly less power than Senner’s: 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 499 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque. The rear-wheel drive 840i Convertible goes from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.0 seconds, 0.4 seconds quicker than its predecessor.

The owner of this 640i Convertible has gone for a KW coilover adjustable suspension, which is complemented by the 9×21-inch front and 10.5×21-inch rear wheels, with a dual-tone look and exposed rivets, wrapped in 255/30 and 295/25 Conti Sport Contact 6 tires. Moreover, the kidney grille sports a black look, in tone with the Black Sapphire Metallic shade applied to the rest of the exterior, and the soft-top can be operated using the OE- remote control.

Senner hasn’t updated the interior of the 640i Convertible, but then again, the tuner is not known for meddling with the cabin, as its work usually includes making the engine more powerful and tampering with the exterior.
