Traffic diversion in Hinjawadi

PUNE: Officials of Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Division will implement traffic diversion in Hinjawadi as the physical work of Hinjawadi-Hadapsar elevated metro is about to begin.

Officials of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority have said that they will try to build the Hinjawadi-Balewadi stretch of the metro on priority.

According to DCP Traffic Vinayak Dhakne, the diversion will be applicable from July 17 to July 30.

All heavy vehicles heading from Phase 2, 3 and heading towards Hinjawadi will take a turn at Tata T junction to head towards Laxmi Chowk. Similarly, heavy vehicles from Phase 1 will have to reach Geometric Chowk and take a left turn to reach Tata T junction and then head towards Laxmi Chowk.

Heavy vehicles heading towards Hinjawadi Phase 1, 2 and 3 will have to take a right turn at Indian Oil petrol pump and head towards Kasturi Chowk. Heavy vehicles from Katraj, Baner, Karve Nagar, Warje and other areas and heading towards Hinjawadi will have to reach Bhumkar Chowk and take a turn towards Hinjawadi.

These vehicles will not be allowed to take a turn at Wakad Bridge. All four-wheelers and autorickshaws heading from Phase 1, 2 and 3 towards Shivaji Chowk will have to go through Kasturi Chowk to reach their destination. These vehicles will not be allowed to take a right turn at Shivaji Chowk.
