A woman is dead after being hit by a bus as she crossed at pedestrian lights in northwest Melbourne.
The woman was struck at Tullamarine just after 5.30am on Thursday, police said.
She is yet to be formally identified.
'It is believed the woman was crossing Mickleham Road at pedestrian lights near the entry ramp to the Tullamarine Freeway, when she was struck by the bus.'

There were no passengers on the bus and the driver is speaking to police.
A truckie who pulled over and spoke to the bus driver after the incident is also being urged to contact police.
VicRoads is advising motorists to allow extra travel time.
'The Mickleham Road inbound entry ramp to the Tullamarine Freeway is closed due to a serious collision,' it said.
Motorists can still access the Tullamarine Freeway or M80 Ring Road by continuing inbound on Mickleham Road and using Melrose Drive to access the freeways.
Major road crash investigators are on their way to the scene.
