NPU V-C rues neglect of his quarter by district

Daltonganj: Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) vice-chancellor S N Singh on Tuesday said the lives of himself and his family are in danger because of the precarious condition of the government quarter assigned to him.

Singh said he has been assigned E-type quarter located some 100m away from NH-75. “The quarter is a piece of example of utter government neglect. Water seeps through the wall whenever it rains overnight. The ceiling is giving away and the rusted iron bars are hanging perilously in the passage to the master bedroom,” he said.
NPU’s college development council (CCDC) convener Arvind Pandey has written a letter to the district administration requesting for immediate repair and renovation but to no avail. He said, “I have sent an official letter to the DC about one week back. But no official from the building department has visited or inspected the quarter yet.” Bindu Madhav Prasad Singh, deputy development commissioner said his office is yet to get any written communication in this regard from the NPU but promised action soon.
