Budget carrier IndiGo is introducing a new flight from Kolkata to Shillong effective from 20 July. Introducing a daily non-stop flight between ‘Scotland of the East’—Shillong and Kolkata, the airline tweeted. Effective July 20, IndiGo will operate daily non-stop flights on Raipur-Kolkata route with its ATR-18 aircraft, the airline noted.
"We are strengthening our network from Kolkata with six new flights including a new RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme) route. Kolkata-Shillong-Kolkata, our next RCS route, will significantly increase connectivity and tourist traffic in the northeast region," chief commercial officer of IndiGo William Boulter Wednesday said, according to Press Trust of India.
IndiGo will also start six new international flights connecting Delhi and Mumbai with cities in middle-eastern countries.
The new flights would be on Delhi-Jeddah, Mumbai-Kuwait and Mumbai-Dubai routes, the airline said.
"Effective July 25 and August 5, IndiGo will launch daily non-stop flights connecting Delhi with Jeddah, and Mumbai with Kuwait," the low-cost carrier said in a statement." Additionally, to cater to the increasing demand from the sector, the airline will also launch its third non-stop daily flights between Mumbai and Dubai," it added.

Currently, IndiGo is the leading airline in India as it has around 50 per cent share of the domestic air passenger market.
