Police have arrested four ruffians on charges of killing a youth and conspiring to dispose off the body. The murder was an outcome of petty dispute of Rs 3000. Police have recovered the murder weapon, vehicle used in crime and other evidences from the accused. ASP (City) Rohit Jha informed that a decomposed body packed in plastic bag was recovered from Telha Nullah in Somni Khar area of Old Bhilai on July 12. On information of villagers, police team reached the spot and the body was sent for autopsy after performing inquest. Police found that the body was tied with ropes and there was deep cut mark on the neck, which was the possible cause of death.
Considering it to be a homicide, Old Bhilai Police team led by Inspector Sanjeev Mishra concentrated its attention for establishing identity of the deceased. In the meanwhile, police team came to know that a youth of Baikunthdham was missing. His relatives were called in for identification of the body. On the basis of clothes, tattoo and armlet, the family members identified it as the body of Pramod alias Kali, son of Om Prakash Sao a resident of Baikunthdham.
After identification of the body, police investigation got a new angle. Kali’s friends and relatives were quizzed and soon it was discovered that Kali was last seen in Khursipar near the house of his friend Sunny Devar. The suspect Sunny was taken in custody and during interrogation, he confessed to have murdered Kali. He further disclosed the names of three other accomplices those who assisted him in committing the crime. Sunny further revealed that Kali had borrowed Rs 3000 from his wife and was not returning the money. Whenever Sunny asked for the money, Kali used to argue with him. Finally, Sunny chalked out a conspiracy with his friends Ajay Kumar Patel, Paras Oriya and S Manu to teach Kali a lesson.
They called him at Sunny’s home on July 09 and asked him to return the money. When Kali returned lesser amount, they took him to a lonely place near Khursipar Liquor Shop. Sunny used a cutter to inflict fatal injuries on Kali’s neck and arm. When Kali fell on the ground, he smashed his head with a heavy stone. Thereafter the accused duped the body in a building shambles. They returned back on July 11 when foul smell had started to emerge from the body. Sensing trouble, they packed the body in plastic bag and loaded it in the dickey of Ajay’s Indica car bearing registration number CG07-8954. They took the body to Somni Khar area and duped it in the Telha Nullah. The accused then parked the car in Power House Railway Station with the aim of hiding it.
Police have recovered the cutter and stone (murder weapons); and the vehicle used in the crime. The accused Sunny Devar alias Sunny Gopal Yadav (25); Paras Tanti (25) son of Ramnath Tanti; Ajay Kumar Patel (23) all residents of Khursipar and S Manu (28) son of S Gabrel a resident of Chandra Shekhar Azad Nagar have been booked under the provisions mentioned under sections 302, 201, 34 of IPC.
