Air Force officer distributes 200 saplings on son's birthday in Varanasi

VARANASI: More than 200 guests, mainly villagers and relatives, received saplings as return gift on the birthday celebration of a one-year-old boy.
A technician in Indian Air Force, Prakash Upadhyay, celebrated his son Aadvik's first birthday by distributing fruit saplings.
A resident of Barji village in Bhadohi, Upadhyay said, "What PM Modi talked about in his first Mann ki Baat of his second term, inspired me to do this.
"I appeal to everyone that on every special occasion we plant trees," he said.
His father Phoolchandra said that he advised his son Upadhyay to avoid unnecessary expenditure.
Upadhyay said, "We liked his advice. My wife Akanksha also agreed that it was a great initiative. With the birthday, we can spread a noble message. After that we bought 200 fruit plants and asked people to plant trees on any special occasion."
