A man has been shot in the leg overnight in the wealthy Brisbane suburb of Ascot.

The 30-year-old victim was found at a home on Hopetoun Street in Ascot about 3.20am on Tuesday.

The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The wound was not considered life-threatening.

The residence was a crime scene and detectives were speaking to a female witness.
