Identify avenue to excel in chosen field, students told

Avinash Dharmadhikari addresses students at Sai Sabhagruh, Shankar Nagar, on Tuesday
Nagpur: The three important factors required to be of service to the nation are knowledge of self, choosing the correct career alternative and excelling in it with a dash of creativity, said former IAS officer Avinash Dharmadhikari on Tuesday.
He was speaking on ‘Career after X-XII and personality development’, organized by the Nagpur centre of Chanakya Mandal Parivar, Pune, in association with Bharatiya Vidya Prasarak Sanstha (BVPS) at Sai Sabhagruh, Shankar Nagar. The centre will be situated at Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya and Junior College, Abhyankar Nagar.
MLC Anil Sole was the chief guest of the programme. Secretary of BVPS Ramesh Bakshi, retired high court judge Ravindra Chauhan, IPS officer Shrikant Savarkar and Vandana Badwaik were present, among others. Krushnanand Shirpurkar conducted the programme.
Explaining the intention of setting up the centre here, Dharmadhikari said, “Today, we are initiating the objective of making Vidarbha and Maharashtra proud and to serve the country. Chanakya Mandal is not a class. It is a family of students who share the collective dream of working for the country. We will foster students who are willing to live for the country as revolutionaries.”
Another aim, he said, is to promote bilingualism. It is imperative for primary education to be taught in mother tongue. Thus, Chanakya Mandal encourages expertise in Marathi language, he added.

Exhorting students to choose the career option they are interested in, he said, “Every human being is intelligent. You need to identify the avenue you are bright in and learn to excel in that field. There should be no inferiority complex about what you are good at.”
Appreciating Dharmadhikari’s views, Sole said, students should take benefit of his guidance and get their doubts cleared. Children from the city and the outskirts now have the advantage of preparing for competitive exams with the introduction of Chanakya Mandal. A bright future now awaits the aspiring IAS, IPS, education and IRS officers, he added.
