Hollywood has led the backlash against Donald Trump for his relentless attacks on four ethnic minority Democratic congresswomen.
A string of stars including Captain America's Chris Evans, Star Trek's George Takei and Cher have thrown their support behind Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 'squad' who were in the firing line of the President's latest Twitter rant.
On Sunday, Trump tweeted: 'Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.'
And after doubling down on his comments, several celebrities skewered the President on social media for sparking an alleged race row with AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley.

Evans led the calls against Trump's tweets which he said were peddling the President's 'insatiable ego' by 'wielding hate and racism'.
His slap-down was echoed by pop icon Cher who tweeted: 'I think Trump should go back [to] where he came from.'
And Takei, best known for playing Lieutenant Sulu in the original Star Trek franchise, slammed the President's 'racially charged attacks' which he said were launched to draw attention from the administration's failings.

And although Trump has suggested they return to their own countries only Omar was born outside of the US, having moved from Somalia when she was 10.
AOC was born in The Bronx, New York, Tlaib was born in Detroit and Pressley was born in Ohio.
Since entering the House in 2019, they have each made a big impact on Washington politics.
AOC in particular has gained almost celebrity status and boasts more than five million Twitter followers.
