This workshop in Chennai may help you know yourself better

CHENNAI: The Indian Institute of Psychodrama Chennai will conduct a three-part workshop on Jungian psychodrama, a form of psychodrama that utilises the symbolic images and stories found in dreams, fairy tales, epics and myths to connect the individual to society and history.
Psychodrama, a group action method that helps an individual embrace his or her own capabilities, is used in clinical settings or business establishments as a tool for conflict and stress management and team building. In this method, the director facilitates the participants to re-enact situations from their lives with a character of their choice.
"Each person can play a different character, see what's going on and try different ways to handle the situation. Other participants can personify your emotions too; someone can play your angry side, someone else can play your impatient side. So, it opens you up to the different perspectives the situation could be approached from," says Eric Miller, assistant director of the institute. "It makes the participant aware of their feelings, emotions and struggles."
The workshops will be conducted by Maurizio Gasseau, a Jungian analyst, psychotherapist, and psychodramatist from Italy.

The first workshop 'Psychodrama of Dreams, and the Social Dreaming Matrix' will take place from July 26 to 28, the second workshop, 'Psychodramatic Socio Dreaming, Socio Drama, and Unfinished Business' will be held from July 29 to July 31 and the final one, 'Trans-generational Psychodrama and Symbolic Representation in Fairytales, Epics, and Myths', will be held from August 1 to August 3.
The workshops will be held at Indian Institute of Psychodrama, No.7, Kasturi Estate, 3rd Street, Muchachi Mansion, Cathedral Road, Alwarpet. To register, go to www.centerforcounselling.org.
