DALLAS, July 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- An estimated 1.7 million people will be diagnosed with cancer this year alone, according to a recent report published in the American Cancer Society Journal. Eyemart Express, a leading optical retailer and fastest provider of quality prescription eyewear in the industry, is partnering with Visual Eyes Eyewear on a fundraising campaign to pledge a $10,000 minimum donation to the cancer research and awareness organization Stand Up To Cancer, also known as SU2C.
For the fourth consecutive year, Eyemart Express is including customers in its philanthropic initiative — the company and its family of brands will donate $5 for every pair of SU2C frames purchased at all 201 stores nationwide through September 7, with a $10,000 minimum guaranteed donation. The SU2C collection was created in collaboration with Visual Eyes Eyewear, offering men and women on-trend frame styles with colorful designs and subtle shapes.
"We are proud to continue our support for a deserving organization like Stand Up To Cancer," said Michael Bender, Eyemart Express CEO. "Our opticians and customers are passionate about this cause, and it is truly inspiring to see the amount we are able to raise for SU2C and their work to find a cure for this disease that impacts so many lives."
Eyemart Express and Visual Eyes Eyewear have donated more than $260,000 since 2015 to support SU2C's mission to help further cancer research, educate the public on cancer prevention, and improve quality of life for cancer survivors.
"Eyemart Express has been a valuable partner in our organization's work to combat cancer," said SU2C President and Chief Executive Officer Sung Poblete, Ph.D., R.N. "We are grateful for the continued generosity of Eyemart Express and its customers with this annual eyewear fundraiser."
