Kerala EC directs to renew voters’ list

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state election commission has directed to renew voters’ list in 28 wards across 11 districts in the state where local body byelections will be held soon.
The draft voters’ list in these wards have been published against which claims and complaints can be submitted online till July 23, said an official release issued here.

The forms, which will be accepted online, include Form IV for new entry, Form VI for rectifying mistakes in the given information and Form VII for change of polling station/ward. Form V for removal from the list has to be submitted directly or should be sent by a registered post, the release said. A final decision on claims and complaints have to be completed by August 2 and the final list will be published on August 3. As per the eligibility criteria, the voter should have attained the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2019. The draft voters’ list is availableon website: www.lsgelection.kerala.gov.in.
The voters’ lists are being renewed in 20 grama panchayat wards in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts, one block panchayat ward each in Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki districts, two block panchayat wards in Kozhikode district, one district panchayat ward in Thiruvananthapuram district, one municipal ward in Ernakulam and two municipal wards in Palakkad.
