Three killed in suspected human sacrifice in AP's Anantapur district

TIRUPATI: Three persons including a priest of a local temple were killed in an alleged human sacrifice incident in the most backward Anantapur district in the early hours on Monday.
A local priest Sivarami Reddy (70), his sister K Kamalamma (75) and a devotee Satya Lakshmamma (70) who came from Bengaluru to fulfill her vow by spending a night at the local Lord Shiva temple in Korthikota village of Tanakallu mandal in Anantapur district were found brutally murdered with their throats slit and their blood spilled over the Sivalinga and ant-hills adjacent to the temple.
Devotees who arrived at the local temple were shocked to see the three including the priest dead at the temple premises this morning and immediately alerted the cops as the Kadiri rural police rushed to the crime scene.
Anantapur SP Satya Yesubabu who also reached the crime scene later told reporters that the execution of the three murders by the unidentified miscreants who could possibly be treasure hunters would be cracked soon.

The incident has sent shockwaves the most backward district in the state which has just been trying to come on to the path of progress through the establishment of a number of industrial units including the Kia motors in the last few years.
According to Anantapur SP Satya Yesubabu, unidentified miscreants possibly 4-5 persons could be treasure hunters.
