THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The
Kerala police arrested two main accused in connection with the stabbing of a student from
Kesavadasapuram at
University College,
Thiruvananthapuram in the early morning hours on Monday.
R Sivaranjith, SFI president, University College unit and A N Nazeem, unit secretary were held by the police while they were trying to escape to a hideout at Kallara in an auto-rickshaw.
DCP R Aditya said that the main accused duo had been arrested around midnight and were being questioned.
Police have already arrested four SFI activists; Aromal, Adwaith, Adhil and Ijab in connection with the case. Over 30 people are named as accused in the case. Akhil, who was stabbed in the chest owing to reported dispute among students, is going under treatment at Medical College Hospital.
The police had also seized bundles of answer sheets of University of Kerala following raids at Sivaranjith’s home on Sunday.
