Varanasi: The School of Education, faculty of education, Banaras Hindu University is going to organise a four-day conference of vice-chancellors -‘Collegium of vice-chancellors’ from July 18 to 21 under the auspices of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) of the ministry of human resource development.
Talking to reporters on Monday, coordinator Prof Seema Singh said that a total of 19 vice-chancellors from the different universities of Bihar, UP, Assam, Orissa, Gujarat, Maharashtra and directors of different institutions of national repute would take part in the conference. Besides, six former vice-chancellors and former chairman of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) will also interact with them on the occasion.
She said that the issues related to draft nation education policy, quality education, internalization of higher education and diversity, inclusion and innovation in higher education institutions will be discussed during the conference.
The PMMMNMTT scheme also aims at promoting capacity building in academic administrators.
