Chennai’s Nirmal Umashankar kept up his winning run to remain on top of the Senior standings in the JK Tyre-FMSCI National Karting Championship (X-30 class).
Nirmal won three of four races at the Meco Kartopia track here on Saturday, before following that up with three more podium finishes on Sunday. It took his points tally to 137 from four rounds, putting him on top of the standings ahead of Debarun Banerjee (81) and Aditya Swaminathan (79).
Meanwhile, in the Junior category, Bengaluru's Ruhaan Alva turned in a fine performance on the weekend, claiming 33 points on Saturday and a perfect 40 on Sunday to move to 130 points. He leads the standings from Arjun Nair (101) and M.R. Rishon (74).
In the Cadet section, Bengaluru’s Ishaan Madesh continued to dominate proceedings, opening up a massive gap at the top of the standings. Madesh leads with 153 points, ahead of Shriya Lohia (107) and Sai Shiva Sankaran (89).
