Kamaraj birth anniversary: Two electrocuted while trying to erect banner near Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu

Two men were electrocuted when a banner they were trying to erect came in contact with a livewire

MADURAI: Two men were electrocuted and another suffered an electric shock when a flex banner they were trying to erect came in contact with a livewire at Surandai near Tenkasi in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu on Monday morning.
The banner was to be erected on the occasion of the 117th birth anniversary of former chief minister K Kamaraj.
The deceased have been identified as M Saravanan, 29, and M Mani, 25. Their friend, T Aravid, 28, who suffered an electric shock, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Tenkasi Government Hospital.

Police said the trio were members of a nadar youth association.
Family and friends of the deceased said the trio were regular blood donors and had planned to donate blood later in the day as part of the Kamaraj birth anniversary.
