Tuned Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Is More Powerful Than A Ferrari 488 GTB

McChip-DKR has come up with three different upgrade kits for the Giulia Quadrifoglio. However, it’s the Stage 3 one that you’ll want to pay attention to, as it has taken Alfa Romeo’s sports sedan into supercar territory.

By tuning the turbochargers, remapping the software and upgrading other components, McChip-DKR has obtained an extra 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. Thus, the 2.9-liter, twin-turbo V6 now produces 680 PS (670 hp / 500 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque.

Having a Giulia Quadrifoglio with 10 PS (10 hp / 7 kW) and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque more than the Ferrari 488 GTB requires spending €15,589 (equal to $17,491) for the kit, or as much as a new Ford Fiesta or Toyota Yaris in the States. As a bonus, the tuner will remove the speed limiter, allowing the car to max out at 313 km/h (195 mph), 6 km/h (4 mph) more than the stock model.

At €7,229 ($8,111), Stage 2 is more affordable and unlocks 610 PS (601 hp / 449 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, whereas Stage 1 costs just €1,999 ($2,243) and delivers 580 PS (572 hp / 426 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Both upgrades get the removed V-max limiter and, regardless of which one you go for, McChip promises dyno-testing and individual ECU programming.

Pricing for Alfa Romeo’s BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63 challenger starts at $73,995, before destination, in the U.S., while in Germany, it will set you back €79,700 ($89,423).
