Anasagar Lake to have bird sanctuary, water sports

Anasagar Lake
AJMER: There is good news for bird and nature lovers. The catchment area of Anasagar Lake which falls behind Sagar Vihar colony will be developed as a bird sanctuary. This will be done to maintain ecology of the lake. Moreover, a bird park will also be developed at old Vishram Sthali on Pushkar Road.
Tenders were floated under Smart City project in Ajmer for these two natural gardens after experts’ advice. “We will construct a bird century at the lake’s catchment area where natural flora will be developed. This will help birds of different varieties to breed and contribute to the lake’s ecology,” said Chinmay Gopal, commissioner of the Ajmer Municipal Corporation.
She added that a bird park at Vishram Sthali will also be developed where green patch will be made for migratory birds during winters. The project has been designed by experts. Migratory birds from different countries during winter season come to the lake for four months.

To make this place more beautiful a bird sanctuary will be developed so that the place will remain natural and tourists can enjoy the surroundings from the footpath constructed all around. “This is the major project because it will reserve the beauty of the lake,” said an expert.
Meanwhile, to attract tourists water sports will be introduced at Anasagar Lake. For this the firm of Udaipur working at Fateh Sagar has taken the contract. “Water sports will develop tourism as till now only a few boats were being used for rides in the lake. Soon, tourists can enjoy other water sports,” said an official.
