Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) women’s wing State joint secretary Kavitha Sasikumar quit the party and rejoined All India Anna DMK (AIADMK) in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in Chennai on Saturday.
When the party suffered split after the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, she quit the party and joined T.T.V. Dhinakaran. After she joined the AMMK, she was appointed as the party’s women’s wing State joint secretary.
When her father-in-law Murugesan, veteran party leader and brother-in-law - Minister for Information Technology M Manikandan were active in the party, Ms Sasikumar was in the rival camp and in the forefront of several AMMK sponsored demonstrations, most of them against the ruling AIADMK.
She was accompanied by Mr. Manikandan and her husband Sasikumar.
