Ludhiana: Strong winds and dark clouds, accompanied with rainfall, were witnessed on Saturday morning. After the rainfall stopped within an hour, the sky remained overcast for most part of the day. Meteorological department has predicted rainfall to continue for the next few days.
According to the meteorological department’s observation, rainfall in the city from 8.30am on Friday to the same time on Saturday was recorded 14mm. The amount of rainfall from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Saturday was recorded at ____mm.
The minimum (night) temperature on Saturday was recorded at 20.9 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees less than normal and 2.9 degrees less than on Friday. The maximum (day) temperature in Ludhiana on Saturday was recorded at degrees, which is __degrees less than normal. The day temperature on Friday was recorded at 31.5 degrees, which was two degrees less than normal. Ludhiana meanwhile witnessed high relative humidity on Saturday which was recorded at 96% which is around 11-16% more than normal.
As the residents continue to enjoy the pleasant weather conditions in the city, the meteorological department prediction of more rainfall in the next few days may cheer them up. “It is likely to rain even on July 14 and 15. The temperatures, especially the day temperatures, are likely to remain around or below normal,” said Chandigarh meteorological department director Surender Paul.
The meteorological department website predicts day temperature to fall to 31 degrees Celsius till July 16, whereas minimum temperature is expected to fall to 22 degrees Celsius till the same date.
Residents are enjoying the weather to the fullest. “About 10 days ago we had planned a trip to Uttranchal hills to escape the city weather as it was hot and sultry. Since it has been raining almost everyday now, the weather conditions have become very pleasant. We have not even used air conditioners since the past few days,” said Vivek Jain, a trader working in Civil Lines.
