Vadodara teen rapes classmate for 2 years, uploads her nude pics

VADODARA: A resident of Gotri was arrested on Saturday for raping his friend for around two years and posting her nude photos on a fake profile of hers on social media. When the 18-year-old girl learnt about the photos a few days back, she lodged a complaint of rape, sexual harassment, stalking under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Information Technology Act.
According to the girl, the accused, who was then a 17-year-old, became friends with her in August 2017 when they met at a tuition class for class X. Few days into their friendship, the boy started forcing her to have a relationship with him and threatened to kill himself with a blade when she showed her disinterest. In her complaint, the girl told police that scared that he will commit suicide, she agreed to get into a relationship with him.
Later, he employed the same threat and took her to his home in Gotri where they started having physical relationship, which continued for around two years. She alleged he even clicked her nude photos.
Recently, when she refused to go with him to his house, the accused got angry and created a fake profile of the girl in Instagram and uploaded the nude photos on the fake profile.
So far, the girl’s family was ignorant of the affair and when they saw her nude photos, they confronted her. She then narrated her ordeal to her parents following which they approached the police and an FIR was registered at Gotri police station on Friday night.
“We have arrested the boy, but whether he should be treated as a juvenile or an adult will be decided by the court as the offences were committed as a juvenile and as an adult,” said in-charge inspector V R Kher of Gotri police station.
The accused is likely to be produced before a local court either on Sunday or Monday. Cops said that the accused is currently in his first year of BCom.
