AMBALA: The
Ambala division of the northern railway has been entrusted to organize a three-day mega event on “64th National Award Function and Railway Exhibition-cum-Rail Mela” scheduled from July 21 to July 23 at S D College, Jagadhri Road,
Ambala Cantonment.
Chief minister
Manohar Lal Khattar will be the chief guest on the occasion. Minister of state for railways Suresh C Angadi will preside over the function.
Rail Exhibition-cum-mela will be open for public from 12.30pm onwards on July 21. There will be no entry fee.
During the mela various zonal railways or rail public sector units (PSUs) will showcase new initiatives, cutting edge technologies, innovation by the Indian railways across the nation at kiosk display boards and stalls in order to disseminate ideas and information to the public.
The national rail museum will also showcase the history of the Indian railways. The exhibition will be presented on the contribution of the Indian railways in an inclusive growth of the nation, achievements, progress and aspirations of the most important mass transportation system of the country.
Ambala division will also share information on the world heritage Kalka-Shimla section to make it accessible and comfortable for public through various charter train services and several techniques used for successful operations and demonstrations on mobile applications of the Indian railways to the public.
Various educational cultural activities will also be organized. Food stalls will cater to the local cuisine and sumptuous food.
