MANGALURU: After months of ordeal, two victims of Kuwait job fraud – Abhishek Manjeshwar and Pankaj Kumar Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, landed in Mumbai, on Sunday morning. Forty two of the victims are yet to leave for India after. They are expected to be back this week after completion of formalities.
“I am finally liberated from hell and I feel blessed to be back in India. It was possible due to support from Indian Embassy in Kuwait, expats, people representative and others, who helped to get us back,” said elated Abhishek, who landed in Mumbai on Sunday and boarded a bus to Mangaluru.
Abhishek’s mother Vasanthi, who is awaiting for her son’s arrival expressed that she waiting to welcome his son back home. “He went abroad this January and later learnt that he faced job related issues.”
Another victim, who returned to India was Pankaj Kumar Yadav. However, along with Pankaj and Abhishek, seven more were supposed to take back flight from Kuwait to Mumbai. It was not possible since the recruited company failed cancel their visa process and clear the mandated procedures.
Sources from Indian Embassy in Kuwait told TOI that currently 42 members are waiting for their visa and other cancellations to return home. The Embassy, which is monitoring all the procedures, will meet PAM (Public Authority for Manpower) and Shoon officials and request to expedite the process. As per the plans, on Monday about 25 persons will be cleared and rest the next day. They will leave for India on Tuesday, Wednesday and last batch on Thursday.

Mohandas Kamath, an expat working in Kuwait, said that among 42 remaining, 19 youths are from Mangaluru, rest hail from Andhra and other states. One batch of Mangaluru youths will start their journey on Tuesday and rest on Thursday. “We are making all arrangements for their safe travel without any hassles.”
Mohandas said lot people have helped to bail out stranded youths from Kuwait they include: Indian Ambassador in Kuwait K Jeeva Sagar, Sibi U S, Second Secretary (Labour), Indian Embassy, Kuwait, , D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, DK, Akash S Panwar, chairman, Aditi International, Kuwait, Gokuldas Bhat, an NRI entrepreneur from Kuwait, Binu Philip, director of ACME Kuwait, Institution of Engineers, Kuwait chapter, Inbatamizh Ilangovan , Joseph Panicker, B Sekhar, Raj Bhandary, Vijay Fernades, Madhav Naik, Mohan Ram from Andhra Pradesh, Bunts Sangha Kuwait, Naushad Bajpe, and Mabiya Kadaba of Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association.
