Senior journalist and former CEO of Mojo TV, Revathi Pogadadanda, was arrested by the Banjara Hills police on Friday in connection with the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, registered against her.

Banjara Hills ACP K Srinivas Rao said in January this year, Jatiya Dalitha Hakkula Porata Samithi, national general secretary, Varaprasad alias Hamara Prasad lodged a complaint with police stating that he was ‘deliberately’ insulted by Revathi and her colleague Raghu after he was invited as a guest for a discussion on entry of women to Sabarimala temple in Kerala.

“The show was moderated by Revathi and Raghu and gradually they picked up a heated argument with Varaprasad, following which they asked the latter to ‘get out’ of their show,” Mr. Rao said, quoting the complainant.

On Thursday morning, the police arrested her and produced her in a local court. The judge remanded her in judicial custody, police said.
