Seat Tarraco Has The 7-Seat SUV Job Nailed, Thank You Very Much

With cars in every mainstream segment and three high-riding vehicles, Seat has never before had such a vast lineup.

One of them is the Tarraco, a seven-seater mid-size SUV that goes against the likes of the Nissan X-Trail and Hyundai Santa Fe. It’s using the same underpinnings as the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and Skoda Kodiaq, clad with a bodywork that adheres to Seat’s new design language.

The interior is very Volkswagen-ish, though – but that’s a good thing, as it means that all controls are where you’d expect them to be and everything functions properly. You won’t complain about space at the back nor luggage capacity, either, which is fairly decent for a car in this class even with all seven seats up. The third row is best suited to children and costs extra, although you’ll have to consider if it you have a large family.

Its true DNA is even more evident on the go, as it handles pretty much like its German and Czech counterparts. Again, nothing major to complain about, except perhaps for a slight hesitation on takeoff with the 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) 2.0-liter diesel and the DSG automatic transmission, which was the version tessted by CarsIreland.

So, how did it do? That’s for you to find out by hitting the play button, but as we already said, the Tarraco is a very honest vehicle.
