Director constitutes emergency committee to address issue

A student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay was attacked by two stray bulls on the Powai campus on Thursday. The student, P. Akshay, was on his way to the college laboratory from the hostel when the bulls charged at him and knocked him unconscious. He was rushed to Shushrusha Hospital in Vikhroli where he was treated for abdominal injuries and discharged on Friday.

A spokesperson from IIT Bombay said the student sustained minor injuries. It spurred the management to think about the menace of stray cattle on campus. “The director has constituted an emergency committee to address the issue of stray bulls on campus. The panel will meet and discuss the steps to be taken. We will seek help from animal experts and the BMC too,” a statement from IIT-B said.
