A man with a knife has carjacked a woman at Gold Coast University Hospital.

The victim, aged 49, was parking her car in the hospital carpark about 8.45pm on Friday when the man approached her window, showed her he had a knife and ordered she get out.

She was not physically injured.

The man drove through a boom gate to flee the carpark.
