7 villages in Sohna are now part of Gurgaon

Gurgaon: The Haryana government has included seven villages of Sohna block in Gurgaon block, state PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh said on Friday. These villages include Maidawas, Palra, Aklimpur, Teekli, Gairatpur Bas, Hasanpur and Sakatpur.
Singh said residents of these areas had approached him during a visit with the request that their villages be shifted since the Gurgaon block headquarters is closer for them than the Sohna block headquarters.

Villagers have welcomed the decision, stated an official statement released on Friday. Development and panchayats department, Haryana, has also issued a notification for the same.
On Thursday, the minister had said two underpasses on Sohna Road had been approved by the Union transport ministry. One underpass will be constructed at Vatika Chowk and another one near Islampur village. Singh said he had met Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari and told him that it is important to construct an underpass in the area to make SPR signal-free.
