PUNE: A newly-wed man ended his life by jumping in front of a train in
Hadapsar on Thursday, after being harassed by his father-in-law and others.
The Hadapsar police have booked his father-in-law and other relatives after the man’s mother (60) lodged an FIR on Friday.
According to the complaint, the deceased man was a jewellery artist and was employed with a prominent jewellery shop in Hadapsar. He fell in love with a woman who is still pursuing her studies and they both got married on July 7 in
Alandi.
However, the woman’s father was not happy with their wedding and started abusing the man. He also threatened him of dire consequences.
The man left his home on Thursday night and went to Kalepadal. He went to the railway tracks and jumped in front of a train. The police found his identity card in his pocket and then contacted his family.
The police also found a suicide note in his pocket after which his father-in-law and other relatives were booked, as the man had named them in the note.
