Dug up road a despair for Unthkhana residents

For the purpose, the roadside was dug between Plot number 145 and 149 in April
NAGPUR: The inordinate delay in restoration of cut roads is causing hardships to the motorists in the city. Roads are dug up for laying of various utility lines like water, electricity cables, telecom cables etc, but have not been restored for months after the work is complete.
A case in point is the locality in Unthkhana near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar School. Here, NMC’s private operator Orange City Water had undertaken a job to plug leakage in drinking water pipeline.

For the purpose, the roadside was dug between Plot number 145 and 149 in April, said Nirupama Ramteke, a resident of the locality. But it was not restored even after the plugging the leakage of pipeline. Instead, the dug up portion was covered with gravel. Even after months, it is yet to be restored and it has turned into a death trap for two-wheeler riders as their vehicles often skid.
So, now the aggrieved residents submitted a memorandum to the assistant municipal commissioner of Dhantoli zone Smita Kale and urged her to repair the patch at the earliest.
