Ludhiana: A delegation of District
Youth Congress office-bearers led by president Rajeev Raja met deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Ashwani Sharma on Friday and lodged a complaint against BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy, claiming Swamy had used derogatory remarks against Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi.
Giving more information, Rajeev Raja said: “Subramaniam Swamy has lost his mental balance, and that is why he is making derogatory statements against our respected leader Rahul Gandhi who recently resigned from the post of party president. By indulging in cheap politics like this, Swamy has not only hurt the sentiments of crores of workers of the Congress, but also Indians who love Rahul Gandhi. The BJP MP needs to see a psychiatrist and get his mental treatment done. We are ready to pay expenditure of all sorts for his treatment. BJP and its leaders have forgotten to be within their limits, and are behaving like illiterate persons indulging in mudslinging.”
Raja also added: “We have given a written complaint against Swamy to DCP Ludhiana and have asked him to register a complaint under IPC sections 504, 505, and 511. We are hopeful the police will act against Swamy and lodge an FIR at the earliest. The Youth Congress also wants to make it clear that if Swamy does not apologise for his act, we will not hesitate to take the strictest of action against him whatever is possible from our side.”
Other Congress leaders present on the occasion included Gurwinderpal Singh, Ankur Sharma, Sajan Malhotra, Pawan Bhola, Rahul Nagpal, Ramesh Singh, Amandeep Singh, Mani Garg, and Vinay Budhiraja.
