Several BJP MP including MoS Finance Anurag Thakur and Hema Malini participated in 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Parliament premises on Saturday. Earlier, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla launched a two-day Swachhata Abhiyan (Special cleanliness drive) in Parliament house on Saturday. While addressing the lawmakers, the Lok Sabha Speaker said , " Commencement of Swachhata Abhiyan is an effort to spread the message of Swachhata envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi." " The Members of Parliament are representatives of 130 crore people of this nation and they have an important role to play to spread this awareness, " he further added.
