Ludhiana: Rain lashed the city on fourth consecutive day keeping the weather conditions pleasant on Friday. According to the meteorological department, the city will continue to receive rainfall for the next few days.
After rainfall on Thursday night, the city became overcast with
dark clouds at around 8am after which it started pouring again and lasted for less than an hour. The sky mostly remained overcast for the remaining day.
The met department meanwhile recorded 38.3mm rainfall from 8.30am on Thursday to the same time on Friday. The amount of rainfall from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Friday was recorded at __mm.
The maximum (day) temperature in the city on Friday was recorded at ____degrees, which is ______degrees less than normal. The day temperature on Thursday was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius, which was a degree more than normal.
However, the minimum (night) temperature in the city on Friday was witnessed on a lower side at 23.8 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees less than normal and even 5.1 degrees less than on Thursday. The city witnessed high relative humidity on Friday at 95% which is around 10-15% more than normal.
“The rainfall is likely to occur even on July 13, 14 and 15 and might be recorded between light to moderate. As a result of rain, the temperatures especially the day temperatures are likely to remain around or below normal,” said Chandigarh meteorological director Surender Paul.
The met department website meanwhile predicts day temperature to fall to 32 degrees Celsius till July 16, whereas minimum temperature is expected to rise to 24 degrees till July 17.
