Rohtak deputy commissioner R S Verma accompanied by police superintendent Rahul Sharma on Wednesday visited Sunaria Jail, where high profile convicts like Ram Rahim is lodged, to review the
security arrangements for the prisoners.
Administration and police officers reached on Wednesday morning and visited the jail wards and reviewed the security and other arrangements. Officers also inspected women wing of the jail, visited canteen, control room and yoga ground.
According to an official, they also inspected the workshop maintained inside the jail where prisoners prepare furniture. They were also told that many of the paintings made by prisoners had found place on the walls of Rohtak’s SUPVA University.
DC Verma, SP Sharma, city magistrate Mahesh Kumar also visited the special cell where Ram Rahim, who is serving 20 years of jail term after being convicted in rape and murder case, is lodged. Talking to TOI, DC Verma said that it was a routine visit to review security arrangements. Expressing satisfaction, DC Verma said everything, including security, is running smooth. He also said he was satisfied with security provided for Ram Rahim, stating that his special cell has limited access.
