Vadodara: Two held for cheating 19 with promise of jobs in Russia

VADODARA: At least 19 persons from different parts of the country were conned by a resident of Gorwa by promising them jobs in Russia. The accused Hitesh Sheth and his aide Zuber Memon were arrested by Sayajigunj police on Tuesday night.
Sheth had started Ajax Consultants near Arunoday Circle in Alkapuri around six months back and had published advertisements offering jobs in a Russian company. He had even circulated messages on WhatsApp lured by which several victims had approached him over the last five to six months.
Sheth had taken Rs 45,000 from each one of them for medical tests and other miscellaneous charges. He had even promised to get visa and tickets for the victims for which he had taken their passports. However, Sheth could not manage anything, kept dilly dallying and when he could not return the money, the victims approached Sayajigunj police station on Monday.
