AGRA: The Mainpuri police has booked three persons including the husband of a woman, who died in district hospital on Wednesday night during treatment, for allegedly assaulting the doctors on duty.
While two of them have been arrested, the deceased’s husband is still absconding. The trio was booked under section 3a of Medical Protection Act 2013.
According to police, the incident occurred last night after the woman, Jyoti (22), who was admitted to district hospital with a complaint of stomach ache, died during the treatment. Jyoti’s husband, Ashok Kumar, claimed that she was not in a serious condition at the time of admission in the emergency ward, but her health deteriorated after an injection was administered to her by the doctor on duty. She died with in few minutes after that, claimed Ashok.
Distressed Ashok and his family members, residents of Rooppur village, created a ruckus in the hospital and assaulted Pharmacist Guarav Gupta and manhandled other medical staff, said chief medical superintendent (CMS) Dr Rajesh Yadav, who later lodged a police complaint against three persons.
In the complaint, Yadav, also stated that the whole incident was recorded in CCTV cameras, which can be examined by the police for evidence.
Mainpuri superintendent of police (SP) Ajay Shankar Rai, said an FIR has been registered against Ashok, Satyapal and Neelesh under sections 147 (rioting), 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of IPC.

The SP said further investigations are on and others will be nabbed soon.
Ashok told media persons that his sister’s wedding was scheduled on Thursday and everyone was very happy in his house, but this incident had ruined everything. He said that instead of providing treatment, doctors made allegations that the patient had consumed some poisonous substance.
