He nodded and she added: 'OK we'll go next door' before leading him into the station next to the courthouse.

Mr Havas, who represented Salim Mehajer in a bid to annul his bankruptcy last year, was at court on Wednesday to represent another client.

The man was fighting an apprehended violence order (AVO) attempted by a woman.

Police allege Mr Havas called and twice texted the woman to get her to drop the attempt.

Influencing a witness has a maximum penalty of seven years. Mr Havas will appear before court at a later date.

The lawyer had a public spat with convicted criminal Mehajer when the property developer sacked him last year.

Mehajer told the Federal Court in Sydney that he dumped Mr Havas because he was 'incompetent'

'Eidan told me it was under control. He talked the talk,' Mehajer said.

'It was all brilliant. But it was not the case.'

Mr Havas hit back by calling a press conference outside the court.

He said: 'If he has done anything wrong he can't take the blame for himself.

'It is always somebody else's fault.'
