Karnataka rebel MLAs leave Mumbai to meet speaker after SC directive

MUMBAI: Following the Supreme Court directive, all 12 MLAs, stationed in Mumbai Renaissance Hotel, left the city for Karnataka in the afternoon (Thursday) to meet Karnataka assembly speaker.
Congress-JD(S) MLAs said that they were leaving for Bangaluru as per the SC order. There were 12 MLAs (Congress 7, JD(S) 3 and Independent 2), who have resigned from MLA posts, in Mumbai since Saturday.
Byrathi Basavaraj, Congress rebel MLA, before leaving the hotel said that they all respected the SC order and were going to meet Karnataka speaker.

A BJP functionary said that they would go by two eight-seat charters to Bangalore and would reach the speaker Ramesh Kumar’s office by 6pm.
The SC, on Thursday, asked the rebel MLAs to meet Speaker by 6pm at his office.
