1 lakh jobs per year coming your way

JAIPUR: A big takeaway from the revised budget is the announcement about creating over 1 lakh jobs in the current financial year.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot has announced to recruit 75,000 employees in 18 government departments, while creating 25,000 other jobs for rural youths under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Rozgar Yojana (MURY) by providing a loan up to Rs 1 lakh. The CM, however, did not allocate funds for the unemployment allowance announced in Congress state manifesto invited sharp criticism from the opponents.
Unemployment was the major issue raised by the Congress during the assembly polls and promised generating of jobs and filling of vacant post in the government departments. The unemployment was one of the main reasons that went against the BJP.
Gehlot has prominently projected the recruitment drive in his budget speech and presented department-wise data to catch the attention of the people. The highest number of vacancies is in the education department with 21,600 jobs followed by medical with 15,000 jobs. Energy, rural development and home also have a major share with 9,000, 5,160 and 4,000, respectively.
“Our government primary priority is to address the problem of unemployment in the state effectively. Our government will over 75,000 jobs in a year fulfilling our commitment,” said Gehlot.

Sources said that all concerned department have already been told to initiate the recruitment process and complete the process by the end of the financial year. It is unclear that out of total how many are new jobs and filling the vacant post. Another program which government is relying to generate one lakh jobs in the next five year is MURY.
Under this scheme, the rural skilled youths who are not able to start their venture due to financial constraints will be given a loan of up to Rs 1 lakh. The loan will be given by RIICO, Rajasthan Finance Commission, SC, ST, OBC/Minorities finance commission.
