Ludhiana: The cut-off on the third day of counselling at SCD Government College was 108% for BCom. As many as 1,545 students applied for 140 seats. The girls common room was flooded with applicants who had come along with their parents from faraway places.
While the cut-off for general category was 108%, 105.66% and 98.44% were the cut-offs for students under backward classes and schedule caste, respectively.
Assistant professor in department of commerce at SCD, Suman Lata, said, “126 seats, along with two reserved including one each for students of rural area and border area have been filled today. Applications would be now be considered for the remaining seats on July 19.”
Registrations open for MA Geography and MSC IT
Registrations are open for masters in geography and informatics and technology. As many as 20 students were given provisional admission on Monday against 30 seats in MSc IT and the college received 58 applications with the top percentage being 79.65. Now, eight to 10 seats are left. The counselling for MA geography will be held on July 18 for 40 seats where 42 applicants have registered so far.
BA cut-off at 186.22 at GCG
All the seats for general category under BA courses in Government College for Girls were filled on Wednesday.
Principal Savita Sharma said 248 seats for unreserved category have been filled. There are 480 seats in total including additional seats for students from border and rural areas. 1,639 applicants have applied with 186.22% as the cut-off for general category.
