AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy picks team of 18 to speak in budget session

VIJAYAWADA: The budget session of the AP assembly, scheduled to begin on Thursday, will continue till July 30. The session will sit for 14 days and there will be no session on Saturdays and Sundays. This was decided by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held in the assembly premises on Wednesday.
Speaker Thammineni Sitaram, deputy speaker Kona Raghupathi, chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, minister for legislative affairs Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and TDP MLA K Atchannaidu were present at the meeting.

It was also decided that the finance minister will present the state budget on July 12. The minister for agriculture will table the agriculture budget on the same day and discussions on the budget will follow from July 15. The government will also introduce a couple of bills during this session. The assembly will also discuss the present crisis on agriculture on the first day of the session. This was proposed by the TDP and agreed upon at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Jagan has kept his team of ministers and MLAs ready to participate in the budget discussions and other issues. A team of 18 MLAs was picked up by the CM to speak in the Assembly and highlight the government’s initiatives and the budget allocations. They will d also take on the counters from the opposition. The MLAs were asked to do some homework on the issues assigned to them for the session. They will also speak on the bills that would be introduced during this session and would defend the government. Copies of the draft bills were supplied to them so that they can come prepared.
