* Britain's Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has launched a licensing round for 768 offshore blocks, it said on Thursday.
* Blocks on offer are located in the Central North Sea, Northern North Sea, Southern North Sea and the West of Shetlands.
* "The OGA is also offering companies the opportunity to propose additional blocks in adjacent areas, for possible inclusion where applicants intend to commit to a substantial firm work programme," it said.
* The licensing round is open until November 12 at 1400 GMT with blocks to be awarded in the second quarter of 2020, the OGA said in a statement.
