Nagpur: Education has been a major pillar in India’s growth and education in schools and colleges have been given utmost importance in spite of lack of clarity in the funds allocated. However, education is not just limited to institutional one as it helps to develop oneself from overall perspective.
The biggest glaring gap in the current education system is the inequality in the quality of education which consists of infrastructure, study material and adoption of new teaching methods.
New teaching methods, like learning by doing, experiential learning, phonetics etc are becoming popular and technologies like audio, video, AI, augmented reality have been helping teachers and students to implement the same.
Adding to the trend,
live streaming is emerging as a potent tool to bridge the gap and emerge as a teaching medium where a tutor and his or her ward connect in a communicative two-way medium to learn, breaking the geographical boundaries.
Live streaming not just allows a 2-way communication tool where a student can get clarity on the subject matter by asking questions, but also a student down south can connect with someone up north to learn on a particular subject.
According to Ritesh Rawal, founder,
Ritesh Rawal Foundation, “Imparting education through live streaming seems like a promising solution to bridge the educational gap in the country. Live streaming is indeed going to be one of the new ways that will be an integral part of the future education system.”
Apart from students going to schools or colleges, large number of educated people lack basic soft skills to earn a stable livelihood even after higher studies.
Nagesh Banga, deputy country head of BIGO LIVE, says, “Education is often misinterpreted as just going to school or college. People not just learn at any age but also can learn anything, be it soft skills or a specific talent from which they can earn. People have found online platforms to educate themselves in different forms of arts and skills and developing their base in India and abroad.”
Krupa Rawal, tutor with BIGO LIVE from Mumbai, said, “I have been taking classes since nearly two months and most of the people who are looking to upgrade are the ones who are either looking for jobs or are at mid-management level. So, imparting education to them is a very different approach from what a teacher or professor adopts in an educational institution.”
An IT manager, who did not wish to be named, said, “I have been facing issues in my growth as I am a dedicated IT operations person. So, learning soft skills to climb the corporate ladder was a must. Learning through live streaming is helping me to develop those skill sets.”
